Melina
Melina carries the musical heritage of her Greek origins through a voice rich in ornamentation and emotion. Born into a family of musicians, oral tradition shaped her upbringing from an early age. She studied oriental violin in Greece and traditional singing before deepening her vocal practice and learning the oud at the Conservatory of Oriental Music in France, graduating with honors.
Blending Greek and Eastern Mediterranean traditions with contemporary pop, Melina creates a sound that feels both timeless and refreshingly modern. Her songs combine poetic storytelling, hypnotic rhythms and expressive vocals, drawing inspiration from traditional wedding music as much as artists like The Do and Rosalía. Her latest single, Kano Traka, perfectly captures this approach, weaving traditional melodies into an infectious, contemporary pop production.
Joined by Doğan Poyraz on percussion, Miloš Kunç Radun on keyboards and Nils Peschanski on electronics, the quartet crafts a live performance that is both intimate and explosive, balancing delicate moments with irresistible grooves.
In 2026, Melina performed at Eurosonic Noorderslag, Grounds Rotterdam and Falafelpop in the Netherlands, proving with her captivating live show that her music is ready to reach new audiences in Northern Europe.
