Yalla Miku are a Geneva-based collective known for their adventurous collision of East African and Middle Eastern traditions with post-punk, Afro-funk, dub, krautrock, psychedelia and experimental electronics. Built around musicians from different cultural and musical backgrounds the bands creates a sounds that is continuously in motion.

At the heart of Yalla Miku is the meeting of traditional instrumentation and Geneva’s vibrant underground scene. Eritrean krar, percussion and multilingual vocals intertwine with distorted guitars, synths, bass and electronics, creating music that can shift from hypnotic grooves and raw psych-rock to dub-heavy excursions, noisy improvisation and dancefloor energy.

Following their self-titled debut in 2023, Yalla Miku returned with 2 on Bongo Joe Records. The album pushes their cross-cultural approach even further, moving through post-punk, Afro-funk, disco, dub and krautrock while drawing on Eritrean, North African and Middle Eastern influences. Recorded live, it captures the spontaneous and unpredictable character that defines the band.

That energy becomes even more apparent on stage. Yalla Miku move freely between tight grooves, collective improvisation and moments of controlled chaos, making every show feel alive and slightly different from the last. In 2026, the band performed at Eurosonic Noorderslag, bringing their uncompromising and highly energetic live sound to audiences and music professionals from across Europe.
